Leaves (day 1)

Leaves (day 1)

He looked up. The sky was a beautiful light blue, almost gray, but not enough to be dark. He shrunk himself in the hoodie he was wearing. It wasn’t his hoodie. The thought filled him with sadness. He missed him. In front of him the trees were starting to become reddish, leaving the bright but cold green for a warmer color. He used to like fall best. When they were together, he used to compare the color of his hair with the leaves in that very place. They were happy… Why did everything fall apart? Was it a wrong answer? Did he scream to loud? Did he stress him out so much that he had to leave? And now he was left alone. He didn’t know how to be happy without him. He didn’t know how to be kind. He got used to having the boy running after him, saying thank you and sorry in his place. He was just cleaning up his mess, tough, that wasn’t love, was it? He brought his head down into his hands, curling up on the bench. Two weeks. He had been alone for just two weeks and yet it felt like years. Was he ever coming back? It was his fault, he shouldn’t have taken his boyfriend for granted, he shouldn’t have yelled at him so much, he should have been more careful with his words, he should have been gentler with him. His skin was hard, but his heart was soft, and he should have been aware of it.

“I’m sorry” he breathed out. Was it the first time ever he was saying the word? Why couldn’t he call him up and tell him he was sorry?

“You know, Bakugo,” a voice next to him spoke. His voice. “in fall the leaves become both red and yellow. Isn’t it because those colors are meant to be together?”

“I’m sorry Kirishima. I really am.”

“I know. I’m sorry too. Let’s go home, yeah?”

“Together?”

“I won’t leave you again, idiot. I promise.”

He looked up. The warmth of the falling leaves was different, or maybe he just could feel it inside when his boyfriend was next to him.
